ABA Content Repurposing: Turn One Resource into a Useful Set

Adapt an approved article into a carousel, video and newsletter without repeating the same message everywhere.

ABA content repurposing means adapting a useful approved resource for another format. It should not mean copying the same dense paragraph into every design. A carousel, short video and newsletter each need their own purpose and level of explanation.

Start with one resource that already helps your audience. Check that its information is current and that your team has the right to adapt it. A large source file is not automatically an approved content library.

Choose a source with a clear main question

A useful source might explain how to prepare a marketing brief or where to find your current service information. Its main point should be clear enough to summarize without changing the meaning.

If the resource contains clinical or changing certification information, identify the appropriate reviewer and official sources before adapting it. An outdated article does not become current because it is placed into a new visual format.

Assign a separate job to each format

FormatAdaptation job
ArticleExplain the fuller process and context
CarouselWalk through a focused sequence
Short videoExplain one useful point in spoken language
NewsletterIntroduce the resource to an appropriate audience
Static postGive a clear reminder or next step

Do not require someone to consume every format to understand the basic point. Each version should be useful on its own and link to the fuller resource when that helps.

Build a small adaptation brief

Record the original URL, approved version, audience, key message and intended destination for each asset. Add the person who will review the adapted wording. This helps the team avoid producing five versions that make five different claims.

A fictional source is a guide to preparing a content brief. The carousel can show the audience, message and next-step fields. The video can explain why the audience comes first. The newsletter can introduce the guide and ask readers which part they need help with.

Rewrite for the reading situation

A phone carousel needs shorter lines and a clear slide sequence. A video script needs words that sound natural when spoken. A newsletter needs a useful introduction and a clear link. The article can carry more detail than any of those formats.

Our carousel planning guide, video script guide and newsletter guide offer separate examples. Use them as adaptation frameworks, not a reason to duplicate the same wording.

Preserve sources, permissions and context

Keep source references with the adapted copy. Do not remove a limitation because it makes the slide longer. If a visual needs less detail, narrow the promise and link to the fuller explanation.

For purchased content, check editing and redistribution permissions before repurposing it. Read our content licensing guide. Content used by one business is not automatically available for every related brand or client.

Review the entire set together

Check whether the formats agree about the offering and next step. Confirm that every link works and that no version contains private information. Apply your content approval workflow to the exact files that will be published.

Include text equivalents, image descriptions and checked captions where relevant. A visual adaptation should not make the useful resource harder to access than the original.

ABA Contents can supply licensed ready-to-post assets, while custom requests can describe a specific adaptation brief. ABA Business Builders is a related publisher service for broader website, branding and promotion discussion.

The planning work comes first. Define the resource and audience before ordering a batch of formats.

Measure which version helps which audience

Review useful visits, questions and actions for each format separately. A widely viewed short video may introduce the topic, while a smaller article audience may need the full process. Use those observations to choose the next adaptation rather than assuming the same format will work for every topic.
